Bill Akers Secretary of Berwick Pubwatch informs us that his scheme continues to make a valuable contribution to local charities.
Their annual ‘pub crawl’, which this year had a ‘Where’s Wally’ theme, helped Berwick and District Cancer Cars and The North Star Adult Learning Centre.
A total of 112 people took part in the event, to the benefit of all pubs in the town.
Last year’s pub crawl raised a total of £1700 and the two local charities were each presented with the sum of £1000.00 prior to this year’s event starting.
This year’s event raised the fantastic sum of £2,800.
