Every time I use my personal ID to enter a club I get refused entry?

Despite that fact that National Pubwatch is not a membership organisation and does not run or accredit local Pubwatch schemes, we continue to receive correspondence from banned individuals.

However, not all correspondence is actually a result of local Pubwatch schemes banning individuals.

Many exclusions are the result of individual licensees using their Common Law powers to protect their venues, rather than seeking a wider Pubwatch ban. And increasingly they are using ID scanning equipment at their doors to screen potential troublemakers.

The use of such equipment can result in people being prevented from entering other licensed venues, which use similar ID scanning machines. This can lead to the affected person mistakenly thinking that they have been subject to a Pubwatch ban, not just in their own locality but in other towns and cities across the UK.

The latest film NPW film (for banned individuals) is titled ‘Every time I have to use my personal ID to enter a club I get refused entry?

Hopefully this will prove to be a valuable source of information and is available to view together with our ever expanding range of public service films on our website and YouTube page.
