General Data Protection Regulation – updated NPW documentation

January 1, 1970

GDPR does live on 25 May 2018. In preparation for the date and to provide support to local Pubwatch schemes we have revised and updated the good practice documentation which is available to Watch members.

As will all our documentation, we provide it for guidance only; so, if you have any specific concerns about the legality of your processes then we would urge you to seek independent legal advice.

There will no doubt be some risk averse people, who will just use GDPR as an excuse for not sharing data, however we believe that as long as you operate in a fair and transparent way that there is no reason why you can’t collate or process personal data relating to people who you have banned from your premises.

We have made these updated documents available through the password protected section of our website.

For those of you who might struggle with GDPR in the context of ‘Pubwatch’, please see the recent article by our Chairman Steve Baker
