Northampton Pubwatch held a relaunch event on Mon 24th April at the Guildhall Northampton. The watch, like many others, had been struggling through the COVID crisis and was in need of a fresh approach. All licensees across the borough were invited and there was a good attendance by current members and many new members.
The meeting was opened by Terry Steers (Chair) and there were inputs from National Pubwatch Regional representative Mark Worthington, Inspector Beth Warren of Northamptonshire Police and Martin O’Connell Senior Licensing officer for Northamptonshire West Council Licensing team who all explained the benefits that working in partnership through a Pubwatch can bring to the Pub and Hospitality trade.
The new members signed up to the scheme and all attendees received a Northampton Pubwatch document wallet, window stickers and a number of local and National Pubwatch posters were available to be taken away. The next meeting will be the AGM in May when the committee will be elected /re-elected.
