This Friday, 25th November, is International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women; to mark the day National Pub Watch is saying ENOUGH to violence against women and we’re encouraging you to do the same through posting on your social channels on the day.
84% of women have experienced at least one form of sexual harassment in their lifetime. Violence against women and girls (VAWG) can take many forms. It can be emotional, physical, sexual or financial. Words or actions. Online or in person. At home, at work or in public. We all have the power to tackle this abuse. ‘ENOUGH’ is a multi-year cross-government campaign to change behaviour, led by the Home Office. Its objective is to shift the public’s understanding and tolerance of VAWG, so that we can create a society where women and girls are equal, respected and safe.
All forms of violence against women and girls are abuse and never acceptable. Even small acts of recognition and support can help – it could be interrupting, offering support to the victim, or telling someone in charge.
Getting involved is easy, Home Office has created a number of social media assets which you can post on the 25th November in support of the UN’s International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women:
