On 11 June 2026 National Pubwatch regional representative Elizabeth Murphy attended the inaugural Best Bar None Awards in York.
We are grateful to the organisers at York BID for allowing Elizabeth to attend the event to present National Pubwatch Star Awards to two Dynamite Pink staff members for their fantastic response in identifying and protecting three young women who were distressed and vulnerable and needing assistance.

After finishing a busy Christmas shift in York, Kayleigh was walking back to her car when she came across two young women who were clearly intoxicated and disoriented. One of the women had fallen to the ground while the other desperately tried to comfort her. Kayleigh became immediately concerned when she noticed a group of men watching them from nearby, making the situation feel unsafe. She approached the women, voiced her concerns, and asked if they needed help. They explained that they were drunk, did not know where to find a taxi, and had no idea how to get back to their hotel. Realising how vulnerable they were, and knowing the hotel was close to where she was parked, Kayleigh reassured them and guided them safely back to the security of their hotel.

After finishing a busy student night in York, Courtney was walking back to her car when she noticed a young woman alone, intoxicated, and crying on a quiet street. The woman was clearly distressed and disoriented, explaining that she was new to the area and had no idea where she was or how to get back to her accommodation. Recognising how vulnerable she was, Courtney stayed with her, ordered her an Uber, and remained by her side until she was safely inside, ensuring she was no longer alone or at risk.
